Hello My Name Is...
Subject: String Orchestra
(5th & 6th grade violin, viola, cello, and bass)
In 5th grade, Gilbert students have the opportunity to play an instrument. In 5th grade beginning strings, students learn to hold the instrument, pluck the strings, use the bow correctly, read music, and play in unison. In 6th grade, 2nd year players learn more notes, bowing techniques, and musicianship. 6th grade music includes sheet music with 3 and 4 part harmony. Orchestra is a great place to make friends and beautiful music!
