Sixth Grade
Room: 116

Welcome to sixth grade. I embrace a Whole Brain Teaching classroom model that encourages different styles of learning along with laughter. I believe that every child can learn and every child has a choice. I will help in every way I can, but the student must work hard to achieve their goals. Six grade is a big year with both academic, emotional, and social leaps. I firmly believe that the teacher parent team is the best way to support a child. Please help me, challenge and encourage and help your child to grow and gain independence.

About Me

Education has always been a passion. I started my teaching journey in 2003 as a “Toro Teacher of Tomorrow” at Mt. View High School in Mesa. I attended Chandler- Gilbert Community College and then Northern Arizona University for my Elementary Education degree with a minor in Psychology.  My first four years of teaching were in Arizona charter schools and I have been with GPS since 2013. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th grades. My husband and I love taking our two children, Alice & Isaac, for hikes and swimming all over Arizona. As a native Arizonian, I love the desert beauty. A few of my favorite things are performing, shoes, egg rolls, coffee and of course I love my students!
